At Makara Model School, we believe that a safe, predictable, and positive environment is the key to successful learning for all students. To achieve this, we proudly implement the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) framework.
PB4L is not a single program, but a comprehensive, whole-school system focused on actively teaching and reinforcing clear expectations for student behaviour. This approach shifts the focus from simply reacting to unwanted behaviour to proactively teaching the positive behaviours we want to see, just as we teach reading or maths.
In 2025, we are undertaking the important process of refreshing our school values. Moving forward, these new values will become the absolute foundation of our behaviour management process.
Specifically, these refreshed values will serve as the explicit, positive behaviours that will be directly taught, consistently acknowledged, and actively reinforced through every aspect of our PB4L framework. They will define what it means to be a successful and contributing member of the Makara Model School community.
Watch this space for further information and updates on our new school values and the ongoing implementation of PB4L throughout 2026!
